Becoming a Seafarer is not easy it’s like the wave and the motion of ocean it’s a tough and hard journey but it is all worth it in the end.
Before becoming a Seafarer you are going to under go on a training specially when you studied in schools like the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy/PMMA one of the finest Marine academy’s here in the Philippines. There required training is military training. This training is design to be discomfort you to discipline and to see who’s Emotionally , Physically , and Mentally fit to qualify. That is for three years in studying and training and a year of on the job training to become a Seafarer
When you Finally became sa Seafarer life isn’t going to be easy as others said. Yes the salary good but it’s not an easy work your still going to work hard for it. Plus the homesickness because usually a Seafarers contracts last up to 6 – 9 months and when your contracts done you can extend it 3 more moths. But still all the hard training you’ve done in college will pay off because your Mentally , Emotionally , and Physically fit for it. So it is really worth it at the end because you can achieve your dream to be a captain of the ship you and most importantly you can provide for your family.
